A Visit from the PR Pros of Three

Jermey Estroff and Lauren Crawford of the company, Three, paid our class a visit last Wednesday, April 15.  Three is a company that does advertisment, public relations, and direct marketing based out of Atlanta. Some of their clients include Shaw Floors and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.   They are both graduates of Georgia Southern University and gave us great advice about the world of PR.

Estroff is the art director at Three and graduated with a degree in PR and a minor in graphic design.  Crawford graduated with a degree in PR.  It was good to hear that their education at Georgia Southern prepared them for their jobs.  Another good piece of advice they gave our class was that when working on a campaign you must make it memorable and creative.

We also learned great advice about trying to break into the field.  Internships are a must and the more the better, when going into a interview, internships look wonderful and are necessary in getting a job.  Also, we need to build a book of press releases, research papers, campaign results, and possibly newspaper clippings that you have wrote.  Walking in with a book shows your potential employers that you have writing skills.

I wanted to say thank you to both Jermey and Lauren for taking the time to come talk to our class and also the communication department of Georgia Southern for organizing them to come to our class.
